Getting Around
TAXI - The taxis are plentiful and there is bus service (mini-vans) between most of the towns.
RENTALS - Several major St. Lucia car rental agencies are represented. To drive, you will need a local permit (EC$30) which can be obtained at the airport and car rental offices. Remember to drive on the left. When driving, use extreme caution as the roads here are in poor condition. Plan for unexpected road hazards.
ISLAND HOPPING - Inter-island travel is provided by a variety of vessels. Nearby destinations include the Grenadines, Martinique, Guadeloupe and Dominica.
TRAVEL TIP - If you are staying on the north part of the island, try to fly in to the smaller regional airport near Castries (Vigie Field) and avoid a two hour bumpy taxi ride from the larger international airport (Hewanorra International) in the south.
