Inside, the Greatview Jamaica is a perfect blend of beauty with comfort. The guiding hand of Greatview’s creator and the commitment of its staff are evident in the upscale décor and careful attention to detail. Each of the 5 large bed-and-bath combination suites in the main house has its signature motif and character. Living areas have been thoughtfully designed to meet the varying needs of your party - quiet corners for solitude, large and small group settings in glorious sun or cool shade, a round glass table for dining outdoors and an elegant indoor dining room for more formal occasions.
The five large bedrooms each feature ensuite shower and bath (deep-soaking or Jacuzzi), bamboo floors, and a private outdoor patio or balcony. Air conditioning units in each room are controlled by remotes on the bedside tables. Window screening gives you the alternative of enjoying the fresh ocean breezes.
The great-room is a combination living/dining-room with a 40-foot ceiling. Huge glass doors can either open the room to cool ocean breezes or protect it from occasional inclement weather while preserving the view. The great-room boasts comfortable sofas and lounge chairs with good light for reading. The mezzanine above has a smaller seating area for more intimate gatherings.
The library just off this main area features shelves of good reading for the enjoyment of Greatview guests, desk with phone and Internet access, and a comfortable chair. Guests meet in the cozy media room to keep up with the outside world through satellite television, watch a video or DVD, or enjoy the surround-sound stereo system.
The covered pavilion with its cushioned rattan furniture is the social heart of Greatview, and most guests find themselves drawn there throughout the day. It’s a great place to enjoy the warmth of a Jamaican day with protection from the mid-day sun – drinking in the colour, birdsongs and fragrance of the adjoining terraced tropical gardens.
For sun-loving guests, the deck over the kitchen offers an opportunity to catch the last of the afternoon rays, while partial covering over the deck accommodates those who prefer shade. Amateur astronomers congregate here on clear nights to watch the stars through Greatview’s telescope.
Those who prefer a lounge chair by the pool have a choice of the upper teak deck by the main pool or the lower deck that flanks the smaller pool and hot tub, amidst royal palms and bougainvillea.
Most often, guests choose to dine in the covered pavilion around the circular glass table by the outdoor bar. With comfortable seating for 10 and a large rotating "lazy susan," this is the perfect spot for informal family-style meals. Because we believe that good food tastes even better on a beautifully set table, the most casual meals feel special at Greatview.
For more formal occasions, Greatview offers an indoor dining table which also accommodates 12 for a sit-down meal. Light from the exquisite chandelier plays off the fine crystal, china and sterling silver table settings. We can even arrange a 3-piece Jamaican band to provide dinner music!
Guests looking for quick snacks before heading out on adventures often enjoy eating at the kitchen counter and chatting with the cook.
On-site Spa: Every fine vacation includes a certain amount of pampering. For those for whom "pampering" equals "spa," Greatview offers on-call massage and beauty treatments in a lovely indoor/outdoor setting, equipped with Swedish and drench showers. A few steps take you to steam room, hot tub and pools.
Exercise Room: Exercise in air-conditioned comfort and enjoy the superb mountain view – or the satellite television. The room is equipped with treadmill, stairmaster, recumbent bicycle, mats and weights.
Pools: Contemplate the sky and sea from a raft in the heated upper infinity pool (cool drink in hand optional). Splash with small children in the large shallow wading area or stand under the waterfall cascade in the lower pool. Or just lounge in comfort on the teak decks and watch the fun!
Wheelchair Accessibility: The mainfloor rooms, covered pavillion and two master bedroom suites are wheelchair accessible and designed to accommodate the disabled.
Staff: Greatview’s professional, full-time staff work quietly in the background to keep everything running smoothly, meet your special needs and provide local knowledge.

Some staff live on the property in the separate, four bedroom staff quarters. There’s at least one female and one male Greatview employee on site and on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
