WINDSURFING AND SURFING
Barbados is one of the windsurfing capitals of the Caribbean. The surf on the east coast is suitable for experienced surfers only.
YACHTING
If you desire a guided Caribbean cruise, yachts and large catamarans can be chartered. The beaches have smaller crafts for rent such as Hobie Cats, along with other types of water craft.
DIVING
Gear and instructions available at: Folkestone Park, Sandy Lane Barbados Hotel, Coral Reef Club, and the Dive Boat Safari, the Dive Shop, Barbados Hilton International, and Willie's Caribbean Water Sports (all of which are located in St. Michael). Divi Southwinds and Sandy Beach Hotel are both in Christ Church.
CRICKET
This is the national Bajan sport. It is played almost anywhere on the island, whether it is an international match, or just on the beach.
HORSE RACING
Tracks at the Garrison Savannah and the Barbados Turf Club.
HORSEBACK RIDING
At least five stables are on the island offering an interesting way to tour the countryside.
RUNNING
The Run Barbados International Road Race Series, a 26-mile, 385-yard marathon course (42,195 meters) takes place the first weekend in December annually. This run, and the 10K in and around Bridgetown attracts men and women from around the world.
TENNIS
Courts are available at the Barbados hotels, and public courts are at Folkestone Park in Holetown.
SQUASH
There are ten locations in Barbados to play.
OTHER SPORTS
Soccer, cycling, basketball, volleyball, field hockey, rugby, trap-, skeet- or pistol shooting. Indoor games that may be available are chess, bridge, darts, and billiards. The national table game is dominoes.
